Blog #33:
Easter comes around, meaning Spring is here. The pastel colors, the flowers and spring cleaning. I love it! When it comes to making easter baskets I try to buy things my kids need and will use. Of course I will still buy something they want. I also try not to go overboard with the goodies, as my children also get 2 additional baskets from family members.
A good tip is to save the easter baskets, grass and eggs for next year instead of buying new ones every year. I tend to get a few extra ones every year from the extra easter baskets the kids get from family members. I then reuse these baskets when also making baskets for their cousins. I also don’t give in and purchase easter related gifts. It honestly goes to waste.
I make 2 baskets for my boys and 2 baskets for the kids cousins. I purchased everything from Amazon and Target. Here is what goes in each basket.
9 year old son’s basket:
- head phones
- 2 basketball posters
- PJs
- 2 Books
- Toothbrush
- PEZ
- Gum
- Candy
- Chocolate

8 year old son’s basket:
- 1 basketball poster
- PJs
- Swim Shorts
- Book
- Stickers and Activity sticker book
- Slinky
- Toothbrush
- PEZ
- Gum
- Candy
- Chocolate

4 year old girl’s basket:
- Dress up activity kit
- PEZ
- Gum
- Chocolate
6 month old boy’s basket:
- 4 pack short sleeve bodysuit
- Jogger Pants

I don’t put as much chocolate and candy to the baskets as I do an Easter egg hunt for my boys the morning of. As you can see these are things they will enjoy and not just wants but things they will use!
I hope this gives you a few ideas on getting things that what go to waste in your easter baskets!
Happy Easter!
