Top 10 Breakfast Ideas:

1. Eggs

There are a variety of ways to make eggs. Have them boiled, scrambled or fried.

Serve them with:

2. Cream of Wheat

Cream of wheat has so many vitamins and is easy to digest. I remember going to Canada on a school week long field trip in middle school. My first morning cream of wheat was served. Boy, it was odd how all the students didn’t eat their breakfast that morning while I ate every bite! SOO delicious! Add whatever you’d like.

  • I like to use brown sugar and milk but you can always make it water.
  • Also add some cinnamon and nutmeg!
  • Nuts and berries are optional
  • Need a side? Have it with some crackers or toast
3. Bulgur

Bulgur is another tasty breakfast. It’s used in many salads but I grew up eating it for breakfast. My aunt would make it with condensed milk and lots of spices; cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. It tastes great warm or cold! add some raisins and wow! I want some now! To make it healthier I skip the condensed milk and use brown sugar to sweeten just enough. Condensed milk makes it overly sweet.

4. Rice Pudding

Rice pudding is so delicious! With one cup of dried rice you can make 4-6 servings. Serve warm or cold for a nice breakfast, snack or dessert! Add cinnamon, nutmeg and an orange or lime peel. Raisins make this dish even more rich! Sweeten to your liking.

5. Oatmeal

Oatmeal is another easy and filling breakfast. Serve warm with raisins and bananas. Add a sprinkle of dried coconut flakes and berries. Whatever you like! Try overnights oats for a cold breakfast.

6. Parfait

Recently, I learned to like yogurt. No scratch that, I love yogurt now! It is said that you should try foods you don’t like every 7 years as your taste buds change. That’s a fun fact for ya! I puree some blueberries, mix into my yogurt then top with granola and maybe some sliced bananas.

If you don’t like yogurt, replace it with coconut whip for a sweet breakfast. Add some berries, sliced bananas and granola.

7. Salad

Who said you can’t have salads for breakfast? If you have vegetables for breakfast, what is the difference really? Most mornings I make a salad with grilled chicken for my husband. His favorite meal!

8. Sardines

Delicious and so filling, as are the rest of these breakfast ideas! Sardines in tomato sauce served with plantains or yucca and sautéed onions. Plus sardines are cheap and have many health benefits!

9. Smoothies

A smoothie alone doesn’t fill me up but a small bowl of eggs and avocado with a smoothie fills me up! HERE are some of my favorite smoothies for breakfast.

10. Acai Bowl

This is basically a smoothie in a bowl with some fruit and granola. This alone is filling and you can skip the smoothie with this meal. Acai is a fruit that can be purchased already pureed in small packets found in the frozen aisle. When ready to use thaw for a few minutes then add in a blender with some almond milk, banana and berries. Blend until smooth and top with granola, berries and sliced bananas.
