Everything But The Bagel Drumsticks

Jump to Recipe

Drumsticks are super cheap. Probably one of the most cost effective meals! When I first started making drumsticks it was always BBQ drumsticks. Which I was not a big fan off. Large drumsticks need to have crunchy skin for the ultimate flavor. I made everything but the bagel drumsticks this time around. A seasoning that is so versatile. You won’t need anything but this seasoning to get all the flavor, all in one bottle!

Everything But the Bagel Seasoning

If you have not tried everything but the bagel seasoning, then here is an opportunity do so. I first discovered this at my local Trader Joe’s a few years ago. Since then I make sure to keep this in my pantry. This seasoning has a mixture of, sea salt, garlic, onion and white and black sesame seeds.

It goes with so many things! Try it on:

  • bagel with cream cheese
  • toast or rice cake with guacamole
  • eggs
  • chicken
  • beef
  • fish
  • Anything you cook with really!

Best Way to Make Drumsticks

Personally I love dry rubs on large drumsticks instead of using sauces. However, to get the flavors I wanted for this recipe, I added amino acids and honey to the “everything” seasoning. Honey burns quickly when cooking with, but this was perfect since my husband loves EXTRA CRISPY meat. Just like charred BBQ food. For this recipe, if you wish, cover with foil the first 20 minutes and uncovered the last 2o minutes, to not overly burn your chicken. I however, left them uncovered. If it was not for the honey, the drumsticks would not start to burn so quick. 20 minutes on HI BROIL, per side and you have the perfect drumsticks.

Favorite Dry Rubs

My favorite dry rubs are using lemon pepper seasoning and chili lime. You get so much flavor with dry rubs and the perfect crispy skin, yet super juicy meat!

Serve With…

Drumsticks go well with anything. Corn on the cob or corn salsa, rice, potatoes or roasted vegetables.

I served this meal with a drizzle of sriracha sauce and wild rice. YUM. Of course, I forgot to take pictures of the served meal!
