How To Make Chicken Wings (The Easy Way)

Jump to Recipe

Last week I posted Everything But The Bagel Drumsticks. In that post I explained how to make drumsticks and my favorite dry rubs. This week I decided to show you how to make chicken wings, the easy way. I notice many people bake their chicken wings in sauces or fry them. Frying chicken wings are so delicious but the house smells and too much oil! I like to BROIL my wings and then add the sauce. You get a nice crispy and brown wing. Plus you get all the flavors in the sauce, without burning your wings! Add the sauce at the end and still get all the flavor! They are so good and easy to make! No need to guess if they are cooked through!

Chicken Wings and Flavors

When it comes to chicken wings, I love doing the sauces. For large drumsticks, as I mentioned above, I like using the dry rubs. I love trying out new sauces. My favorite line of sauces, I have mentioned in other posts, is the Stonewall Kitchen Brand (NOT sponsored). They have so many different flavors to try, that you don’t normally find with other brands. Whole Foods and local smaller markets, I notice, carry these sauces. Around the holidays, I get the catalogs. They sell all sorts of sauces, marinades, dressings, you name it. They sell it. They are more on the pricier side, at $7-9 a bottle but totally worth it!

I made a wonderful Shrimp and Watermelon Kale Salad using one of their sauces. This is a yummy winter salad, that is a must have. Full of flavors and colors! If you like to stick to plain barbecue sauces, I recommend the organicville BBQ sauce. Once I discovered this, I refuse to buy other brands, unless I am purchasing other than plain BBQ sauce. Mango Jalapeño BBQ sauce is very good, as well! It’s so good and you know what every ingredient is on the label. I also like using my Asian dressing, which is a marinade I use a few times a week, making different dishes. You can find the recipe HERE.

How to Make Chicken Wings

I can’t tell you how easy this is! Broil your wings for a total of 30 minutes, flipping after 15 minutes. Depending on how big they are, you may have to add another 5 minutes but that is it! Then toss the wings in your favorite sauce and serve! This is perfect for appetizers. Double the batch and try 2 different sauces. It is always a hit in my home!

What To Serve With…

Of course, you can serve chicken wings with fries or pizza but healthy is the new year right? January is the month where people start healthy habits. Why not show you how I like to serve my wings. Once in a while, I do fries but not often!

Serve with roasted vegetables! Roasted vegetables are super delicious! Tons of flavor and equally satisfying as fries but healthy! This time around I served my wings with roasted brussel sprouts and roasted carrots.

A simple way to make delicious and crispy chicken wings, every time!

Ingredients

  • 1.5 -2 lbs of chicken wings (drumsticks and flats)

  • cooking spray or drizzle of oil

  • 1/2 bottle of your favorite sauce (about 4 0z), such as BBQ or mango jalapeño BBQ sauce

Directions

  • Turn oven on HI BROIL
  • On a sheet pan, drizzle pan with oil (lightly) or use cooking spray. This will help wings NOT stick to the pan. Arrange wings on sheet pan and BROIL for 15 minutes. Flip wings and BROIL for another 15 minutes. If they need a bit more color, add 5 more minutes.
  • Remove from oven. Put wings in a large bowl and add sauce. Toss well and serve!

What is your favorite sauce on chicken wings?
