DIY Rustic Easter Coasters (Easy and Fun!)

I love everything about Easter. The decor, crafting, the colors and the beginning of spring. Since having my youngest, I have not crafted much. Crafting for easter is one of my favorite things to do. A few years ago I made these DIY Rustic Easter Coasters. They were so much fun to make and super easy. To this day, I still use them. I find them to be better than store bought ones. The jute I used is perfect for non-slip when adding a cup or mug.

Supplies Needed

I purchased everything at my local craft store. I already had some of the paints on hand.

You will need:

  • acrylic paints, light blue and green but any pastel colors will do
  • cork tiles
  • circle template; I used the top of a mason jar
  • jute rope, the thicker, the better
  • glue gun
  • foam brushes and a circle one
  • marker
  • scissors

Easy DIY

This is such an easy craft to make! To make 4 coasters, I traced 4 circles, using the top cover of a mason jar. I cut the circles out and started gluing the jute onto the cork tile. Start the circle in the middle and make sure to use a glue gun, as it dries within seconds. By doing so, you can start painting your coasters immediately!

Time to Paint

I love using jute for crafts. It’s sturdy and rustic, my favorite style. The paint is a bit harder to adhere to the jute. Therefore, I painted on a few layers of paint. I used a bunny stamp, but then painted over the stamp print. The dots were my favorite to make. I used a circle foam brush for 2 of the coasters. The last one is supposed to be an easter egg but looks more like a green football! I suggest using foam brushes as it collects more paint than a regular paint brush.

Let the coasters dry and use them for easter or anytime of the year. These are also cute to add to an easter basket. My son loves using them when I make him tea. I stress the use of coasters near the laptops!

Happy Easter!
