How To Make Maple Walnut Granola

Here is another granola post. This time it’s a an easy maple walnut granola. Yes, super easy to make! The base of this granola is, maple syrup, coconut oil, quick oats and walnuts, of course!
Now that the fall season is here, maple and walnut are all the rave in my household. This granola has the perfect crunch and sweetness. I honestly don’t know why I don’t double my granola recipes because they don’t last more than 24 hours!
Because one of the main ingredients is maple syrup, you want to make sure you use a good maple syrup. It doesn’t have to be super expensive but you want your syrup to just contain maple syrup. The most popular syrup that most people are familiar with is Aunt Jemima’s maple syrup. Now they have changed their name to Pearl Milling. This syrup’s main ingredient is corn syrup and fructose corn syrup. Real maple syrup will just contain maple and that is it!
Color & Taste
You may notice syrup comes in different colors. You will see Amber, Dark and Golden. The colors vary due to the season. The warmer it is, the darker the syrup, due to bacteria. This results in a stronger tasting syrup. The colder it is, the lighter the syrup, resulting in a lighter taste. Either way, the syrup comes from the same trees. The difference is the seasons!
Walnuts tend to have a slightly bitter taste, but when paired with sweets, such as ice cream and granola, it is the perfect combination to balance the flavors. When I think of walnuts, I usually think of an ice cream Sunday in July and walnuts for the holidays! But of course, I still eat walnuts throughout the year, as they pair well with many foods.

Maple Walnut Granola is easy to make and delicious to make for your home and gifting this holiday season!
3 cups of quick oats
3/4 cup of maple syrup
1/2 cup of coconut oil, refined
2/3 cup of walnuts, raw
1/2 tsp of pumpkin spice or cinnamon
1/2 tsp of salt + more for sprinkling
- Makes 6 Cups
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees
- In a saucepan, add the maple syrup and coconut oil. Heat on HI until the coconut oil is melted. About 5 minutes.
- While the saucepan heats up, add 3 cups of oats in a large bowl. Mix in the pumpkin spice and salt.
- Remove saucepan from heat and immediately pour over oats. Mix well and pour mixture on a cookie sheet. Spread out evenly.
- Bake for 10 minutes; stir the granola and bake another 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle with salt. Do NOT Stir YET. Add the walnuts.
- After about 10 minutes, your granola should have cooled down a bit and start to harden. Give it a stir and you will see some chunks in there! Once granola has completely cooled enjoy!
