How Does it Feel Like to Breastfeed Your Baby?
How does it feel like to breastfeed your baby? Does it hurt? It all depends. I stopped nursing my toddler 2 weeks before I gave birth. Therefore my milk came in quick. No major pain besides some sore nipples for a few days. If I was starting all over I am sure it would have hurt. However, if you have breastfed before you know what your doing. All you have to do is teach baby how to latch. It is so much harder when their mouths our soo tiny!
Painful
The first 6 weeks of nursing is definitely painful. The cracked and sore nipples are unbearable. Your nipples are so sensitive that even your bra or the water from the shower hurts!
Heavy
When your breasts are full of milk they feel SUPER HEAVY. At times you feel like they are going to pop because they are so full of milk! That’s when you have to feed baby or pump.
Feeling a Flow
Feeling a flow of milk rushing in. In the beginning your body is producing so much milk and learning your baby’s schedule that milk just starts to flow quickly and your nipples start to drip milk. It’s a weird feeling that feels like a sharp pain in the beginning but super cool because then you know it’s time to feed baby.
Numbness
Once you get nursing in order, your nipples get tough. They become numb that you no longer feel sore. You can find breastfeeding tips HERE.
You Feel Free
In the beginning you may feel shy about nursing in public. I remember my first time. I was out to breakfast with my sister in law. After a few more times out in public I got used to it. Now I just pop it out with a nursing cover. But I am very free around my female family members! It gets to hot under the nursing cover for baby in the hot weather and for myself! Overtime you become comfortable. Baby is hungry and needs to eat!

I love it!
I love breastfeeding and so will you! Bonding time with your child but another plus is not having to buy expensive formula and making multiple bottles for on the go! My diaper bag is already plenty heavy LOL
I haven’t had a baby & I’m not pregnant yet, but I’ve been really nervous about getting pregnant and going through labor in the future. Reading this really helped me to know that there are some difficulties with breastfeeding, but the reward outweighs the pain and discomfort. Thank you so much for sharing this!!
Your very welcome! It is a journey for sure but so rewarding. It’s such an amazing experience!
