Cooking a Thanksgiving Turkey can be challenging. Especially if this is your first time! I remember my first turkey years ago. It was a huge turkey, that took forever to thaw. And of course, half of the turkey was still frozen after it was done cooking! Luckily, the turkey was large enough that we had a half cooked turkey! We probably each have had some sort of turkey fail story LOL. There are so many questions on making a turkey that there is even a hotline! Although, I’ve never used it. Do you have a favorite side dish for Thanksgiving? I really love all my sides but my ultimate favorite is sautéed brussels sprouts and carrots with bacon. It is a must for Thanksgiving. It’s full of fall colors and tastes amazing. Brussels sprouts and carrots with bacon is perfect, since there are so many dishes to already make. You don’t have to worry about using multiple pans. I love roasted vegetables but this is one of the few vegetable dishes I like to sauté.

Preparing for Thanksgiving

November first is here. Time to start preparing for Thanksgiving. It will be here before you know it. Normally this time of year we are wondering what to make for dinner, who will host or if your are visiting family. Then of course you have to figure out if you are bringing a dish. Of course, this year will be a lot different than other years, due to social distancing. However, there is still a meal to prepare at home! More than ever, we need to be thankful for everything we have. Things may get worse but we have to be positive and be grateful.
