Impress Nails vs Kiss Fantasy Nails Review

Love getting your nails done but hate spending time and money at the salon?  Worst part of all gel nails and acrylic nails ruin your nails.  Sometimes you just want to wear fake nails for an event, party or get together.  I personally do not like using nail glue and prefer the adhesive nail tape.  Easy removal!

I am going to give you my review on two press on nails I use:  The imPress Nails and KISS gel fantasy nails.

Pros and Cons

imPress Nails Pros:

  • Cost: $5.99
  • 30 nails and includes 6 accent nails
  • adhesive ready on the nail
  • look like gel nails
  • flexible nails
  • lots of sizes
  • last at least 7 days

Impress Nail Cons

Now for the cons of the imPRESS nails – they do start to pop at the cuticle after a few days.  By “popping” out from the cuticle your nails get caught when washing or styling your nail.  The plus is that it is not noticeable to others.  Other than that it is manageable and last 7 days!  I have read some leave them on for 2 weeks but they start to get gross.  I suggest removing them after 7 days.  You don’t want germs!

What I Like

The great thing about these nails is that the adhesive is already attached to the nail.  You just need to size them to your fingers and then peel off the film on the nail and apply.  I do file the nails to be a bit more square before applying on my nail.  I don’t ever have to worry that my fake nails will fall off.  They will start to get loose after a week.  Use your nails to push in between your real nail and the fake nail and done!  I have actually done this driving!  As long as you don’t pull you will not peel your nails.  It has only happened when I was in a rush and pulled them off quickly!

Kiss Fantasy Gel Nail Cons

The cons for the KISS Fantasy Gel Nails is that the first day I put the nails on a nail fell off a few hours later.  The adhesive comes in a package as you can choose to use the nail glue or adhesive tape.  Again this review is on just using the adhesive tape* not the nail glue.  I changed the adhesive tape on the thumb nail.  The next day the other thumb nail came loose and I had to replace the adhesive again.  On day 3 I felt another nail came loose and so I just removed the nail and added a new adhesive.  I decided to try these nails over a long weekend in which I had no plans.  I did not want to be out and about and have a nail go missing! Embarrissing! Overall the nails are very thin which look natural but sort of look like acrylic.  The nail lays right into your natural nail without popping off.  These were also a bit longer and very easy to remove.  The adhesive on these are not as strong as the imPRESS nails but I was able to do dishes and clean, etc. without the nails falling off.

Overall…

In conclusion,  I do like both nails. I really like that the KISS Fantasy gel nails feel more natural since they are thinner and nails do not pop but I was a bit nervous that a nail would fall off so I carry the adhesives with me.  The imPress nails are more reliable as you don’t have a problem with the nails falling off.  For daily wear I would choose these and pick the KISS ones for an event.  I would say try them both and let me know which one you prefer!  They both have awesome colors, shapes and lengths.

  1. I have tried both but I used the glue on the kiss fantasy nails. I have to say the impress lasted way longer and were so much easier to put on. The kiss fantasy nails fell off pretty easily and I had to re-glue then many times. They both come in great styles but overall I suggest the impress nails. I also love that they have holiday/seasonal nail options! I’d recommend getting them at a local store or their own website because it’s way more expensive on amazon.

  2. I like the Kiss nails better than Impress. The nail glue holds the nails on well. I can’t stand the feeling of getting my hair stuck under my nails! I find that happens with the Impress nails.

  3. If I file the tops of my nails So there’s a rough surface and use the kiss brush on Nail glue, I can usually get that kiss nails to lasts 3 to 4 weeks

  4. I have tried the kiss nails with professional glue and my nails can last for two weeks! I just finished manicure school and it is a lot easier than sculpting a nail and then having to file them to smooth them out. The kiss nails are incredible and I will continue to use them.

  5. I have only bought the impress nails once and they didn’t have the bigger nail bed sizes like the kiss gel fantasy ones. Did I just get a dud set? Are they both supposed to have the same size nails as the kiss gel fantasy sets?

    1. Hi Katie! Maybe a dud, I use them often and they come in a variety of sizes. I have noticed and others have also told me the kiss gel nails have smaller nails since they arent as flexible as the impress nails. They are definitely both different in sizes. I hope you find a set you like!

  6. I had acrylic nails for years. Took them off and have been going au natural. On a whim purchased Impress. They are fantastic. I fully agree with the reviewer that they do start to pop a bit at the cuticle but is not noticeable. I have had them on for one week –I could go longer but I think a week is a good amount of time. I used the nail adhesive not glue. I absolutely love them and purchased several sets.

  7. The Impress nails do not have large enough thumb sizes for me but the Kiss Gel Fantasy do. I also prefer the Kiss as I hate how the Impress lift at the cuticle and sides almost right away. It feels so unhygienic and I hate stuff getting caught in them. I also use nail glue instead of the tabs for this reason.
