Easy Chocolate Pumpkin S’Mores Dip

Jump to Recipe

Literally, I make pumpkin everything during the fall. Right after Thanksgiving I slowly stop the obsession I have for the year. LOL. I’ve been wanting to make a s’mores dip for some time and decided to make it pumpkin inspired. Here is my easy chocolate pumpkin s’mores dip recipe!

The Occasion

Hocus Pocus 2 was premiering on Disney +. Of course, I had to subscribe to the Disney + app JUST to watch Hocus Pocus 2. And to celebrate the evening with my family I decided to make the s’mores dip for that night! I have to say the movie was pretty good. Not as great at the first one but definitely a movie I would watch again.

A Skillet is Best

Using a skillet is best for this recipe. The chocolate will not burn in a skillet and you will be able to transfer the skillet straight to the oven to roast your marshmallows. If you do not have a skillet, a glass dish or other ovenproof dish will work. You would melt your chocolate using the double broiler method or microwave and then transfer the chocolate to an ovenproof dish. Add the pumpkin puree layer, pumpkin spice add top with marshmallows. Roast the marshmallows for about a minute and serve!

A quick and easy fall dessert for a crowd in just 5 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups of mini marshmallows

  • 1 cup of pumpkin puree

  • 1/2 tsp of pumpkin spice

  • 16 oz of milk or dark chocolate chips

  • Graham crackers, for serving

Directions

  • Heat oven on HI or 500 degrees, on BROIL. Using a skillet, spread the chocolate chips and evenly spread the pumpkin puree over the chocolate chips.
  • Sprinkle the pumpkin spice over the pumpkin puree and then layer the marshmallows on top.
  • Heat the skillet on your stove for about 3-4 minutes or until the chocolate melts. You can check by dipping a spoon into the dip.
  • Once melted, transfer the skillet pan to your oven or broiler for about a minute or until the marshmallows are toasted/have some nice char color.
  • Remove from oven and serve with graham crackers!

Notes

  • If you don’t have a skillet, use an ovenproof dish. Melt the chocolate first using the double boiler method or the microwave. Add the chocolate to the ovenproof dish, along with the pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice and marshmallows. Roast the marshmallows for about a minute.

How Was It?

This dip was different than the original. It was a hit and super yummy. This is a great dessert for large crowds. We had plenty of leftovers which was fine to keep in the fridge and reheat again the next day. The chocolate stayed melted for quite some time. The skillet keeps your food warm for a while! Which is great for this recipe!

Other S’Mores Flavors to Try

After making this chocolate pumpkin s’mores dip I got a few other ideas I would like to try in the future! So many foods go well with chocolate. I would like to try it with:

  • fresh smashed blueberries, maybe homemade jam to control the sugar in this recipe;
  • homemade strawberry jam
  • Nutella s’mores dip with chopped hazelnuts

S’mores are great anytime of the year in my opinion!
