Freezer Meal Ideas

Blog #42:

I have 3 weeks left to go before baby #3 arrives!  I was planning on making at least 10 meals to get my family by and no cooking for me when arrive home from the hospital.  However, I find that it is a bit hard to find meals to freeze as we eat a lot of chicken, fish and vegetables at home!  Vegetables are easy to prep and you can always buy frozen!  I hate freezing fish.  It always comes out watery for some reason! I ended up just make 6 meals and 2 dozen muffins!!

I made:

  1. Chili
  2. Stuffed shells with spinach
  3. Lasagna
  4. Chicken Soup
  5. Bean and Cheese burritos
  6. Pepperoni Pizza
  7. Cheese and Vegetable quesadillas
  8. Banana Bread Muffins
  9. Pumpkin Muffins

To save time and money I made a large pot of chili and chicken soup as I normally do.  What is left over is frozen! It is enough for another 4 large servings.  The pizza and quesadillas were easy as I always have cheese, pasta sauce and naan/tortillas at home.  Use any vegetables or left over meats to make pizzas or quesadillas.  I had a can of pureed pumpkin and decided to make muffins.  My bananas were going bad so I made banana muffins!  The stuffed shells and lasagna I planned out.  I suggest using what you have at home first before purchasing extra food!  This way you save money!

There are many recipes out there but not many that I eat weekly, which is why my list of frozen meals was small.  However, this will help me out the first week at least.  I may end up doing take out a few days and will definitely use my crockpot!

Make sure to let the muffins cool before freezing and let the air out of the ziplock bag. For the lasagna and stuffed shells, wrap in plastic wrap and then cover in foil.  On the foil with a sharpie write down how long to bake.  Make sure everything is dated!

I used my recipes for these and some are Pinterest inspired!

Freezer meals are great for back to school as well for those busy nights, new baby and just because you may have left overs!

This blog is pretty short but straight forward!

I hope I have given you some ideas!

Tote Bag Used as Diaper Bag with ToteSavvy Insert

Blog #40:

I am currently pregnant with my third boy!  This time around I wanted a tote bag instead of a diaper bag.  I’d like to use my tote when I am out without my baby and when I am with my baby.  Let’s face it, unless its date night or work baby will be with me!  I searched high and low for a diaper bag that I can picture myself using for the next couple of years.  Yes, I found some I liked but I did not love.  It seems like the new style is diaper backpacks.  Still I could not find one I loved.

I had been eyeing the new Kate Spade Molly tote for a while now.  Once I found out I was pregnant I decided the tote bag was going to be my diaper bag!  I just received it in the mail today and absolutely love it!  I purchased the all black with the beige, suede interior.  It also comes with a removable pouch.  As you can see in the pictures,  one side has the Spade and the other side says Kate Spade.

I also purchased the Mini ToteSavvy from Amazon.  The totesavvy is an insert that has an insulated pocket for bottles, pockets for diapers, wipes, toys, etc.  It also comes with a changing mat!  In addition to all the pockets it has a clip to attach your keys or wallet!  I am still debating if I want a wallet for this bag is it comes with a removable pouch.  In the pouch I added my card case to make it more neat, so I think that should be fine!

There are a few different sizes but I decided to go with the mini since I still wanted extra space to add my belongings!  They also come in many different colors to match the inside of your bag!

This is an example of what my bag may look like, minus the bottle since I plan on breast feeding.   I added a baby blanket/teether, diapers, wipes, butt cream, nursing pads, a bottle and hand sanitizer.

I am that person that buys something and has to use it right away.  Since I will be using the tote as an everyday bag I obviously have not completely packed it.  However, I will be adding burp clothes, a few wash clothes, a small blanket, an extra outfit or 2 for the baby and an extra shirt for me. I will also carry my personal belongs such as pads, lip balm, eye drops, tissues, etc.

I will have this packed before baby arrives so I don’t need to rush around once doctor appointments come up, etc.  Remember you will be tired!

I plan on making a hospital bag blog as well!  Stay tuned and I hope you enjoyed this blog!

Free Baby Bag from Target

Blog #36:

Hi all!  It has been a while since I posted about my pregnancy.  It is a BOY!  Another boy, my third boy!  If you remember I took the sneak peak test and I was not sure how accurate that blood test would be at 10 weeks but it was!  Nausea is gone and I am eating a lot! At 23 weeks I am honestly half way there.  All my tests came out negative thankfully.

To keep myself more energized I am taking a workout class modified for pregnant moms!  I have been enjoying myself for sure!

I just wanted to give you a heads up on that, if you care of course! HAHA I am actually here to talk about freebies you can get while pregnant!  I absolutely love freebies!  Well who doesn’t!

Target is one of my go to stores and they are located everywhere.  I created a private baby registry on  They also have the app which I have been using to add more stuff.  I love that I can put it as private and then make it public when I am ready.  You also have the option of just keeping the registry private and share the link with those you wish.  All you have to do is create a registry and add some items to your registry.  Then go to your local Target service desk and tell them you did your baby registry and are looking for the baby welcome bag.  They didn’t even ask to see an email confirmation or they could clearly see I am pregnant lol!  It was super easy!  I did have to go to two different Target’s as the first one did not have any in stock.

This is what came in the reusable bag:

  • 1 – Size 1 Pampers diaper and a $5.00 off coupon
  • 2 – Size 1 Honest diapers (two different prints)
  • 2- Size 1 Up and Up diapers (Target brand)
  • 1 – Honest Travel pack wipes
  • 1 – Travel Size Water wipes
  • A set of Lansinoh breast pads
  • 2 – Lansinoh breastmilk storage bags
  • 1 – Nuk pacifier
  • 1 – Dr. Brown’s 4 oz bottle
  • 1 – Philips Avent 4 oz bottle
  • 1 – Travel size Johnson & Johnson bedtime bath wash
  • 1 –  Travel size Aveeno Baby Daily Moisture Lotion
  • 1 – Mini Eucerin Eczema Relief cream
  • 1 – Sample of Aquaphor ointment
  • 1 – Sample Palmer’s cocoa Butter Formula Stretch Marks lotion

So much stuff! Other places who offer freebies that I signed up for are Huggies rewards, Pampers rewards and

Pregnant, Now What?

Blog #32:

You find out your pregnant after taking 4 tests!  Now what?!  My oldest son will be 9 in a few weeks and my youngest is 8.  Yes Irish twins!  My husband and I decided to take a long break before having another baby.  Three has been our number.  It took us 6 months to get pregnant, which everyone says is not a long time.  For me it was as I had my boys back to back.  It has finally happened and we are super excited!  I am technically starting all over again since it has been so long.

To all the first time moms or moms who haven’t had a baby in a few years, this blog is for you.  You honestly forget all the little steps.  I remember nausea and throwing up with my first two pregnancies but I had actually forgotten how awful it feels until I had it again for this pregnancy.

I used an app called Ovia to track my ovulation days, etc.  So once I missed my period I had an idea how far along I was based on the date of my last period.  If you keep track of the date of your last period you then calculate your due date and how far along you are.  You can google, due date calculator to help you get an “exact” date.  Once you find out your pregnant you want to call your ObGyn to schedule your first appointment.  My likes to schedule the first visit at 8 weeks.  I ended up changing Obgyn for this pregnancy as I want to deliver closer to my home.

At the first visit, you will get your first ultrasound to make sure there is a heartbeat and to see the measurement of the baby.  This will give the doctor an exact due date.  I was actually measuring a week ahead.  I then had blood work done and had ALL my questions answered.  My youngest son has special needs, therefore I had a ton of questions.

My second appointment was two weeks after that.  Basically to follow up.  At that appointment I then scheduled the First Screening Test ultrasound and blood work.  This is the test where they test for down syndrome, trisomy 18 and trisomy 13.  I then saw the obgyn 3 weeks later for my results and to follow up and check baby’s heartbeat.

I will be 16 weeks (4 months) this week.  At my 18th week appointment I will have another ultrasound to reveal gender.  My husband really wanted to have a girl as we already have two boys and so we took the Sneak Peak Test and the test said BOY! You can take it as early as 10 weeks.  All it is a blood test.  This test is 90% accurate but some people say if the test says boy you can sometimes get a false positive.  It most likely is another boy but I will get confirmation on my ultrasound in a few weeks!

My nausea has passed for the most part. Certain smells like perfumes make me super nauseous!  But at least I can now smell, cook and eat chicken!  As with my first trimester I  wore a mask to cook chicken for my husband and children.  I could smell or eat it!  It was awful!  I just have to keep my belly full.  If I get too hungry I get nauseas, just as a not pregnant person except I am hungry every 2 hrs!  Luckily I crave fruits!

To keep track of your pregnancy by week check out the OVIA Pregnancy App and Baby Center.  I have both and love them!  This week my baby is the size of an apple or avocado!

I”ll keep you posted 🙂
