Celebrating Valentine’s Day at Home
I never make a big fuss of celebrating Valentine’s day. We should celebrate love everyday! On top of that February is my husband and son’s birthday. Therefore, I don’t want to overdue the sweets. Celebrating Valentine’s Day at home can be lots of fun, without going overboard.
Here are Some Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day at Home
Sweets
The first thing we think of is candy and chocolates. I mean, why not? Any excuse for sweets! Have some sweets but make it a little bit healthier. Chocolate covered fruit makes things a bit healthier or even a 3 ingredient chocolate truffle are satisfying.
Crafts
Make cards with a cute meaning to hand out to your kids and spouse. It’s fun letting each other know how much you love each other. Better yet, make the cards together! Crafting and coloring is super relaxing and even more fun when done together! You can get tons of craft supplies for under $5 or use what you have at home. Try making a flower craft or a DIY frame
Other Ideas:
Popsockets are great for all ages. Who doesn’t want to prop up their phone to watch YouTube? Coloring books, new pens, puzzles, notepad with markers, flowers, free coupons for a day off of cleaning or a nice massage! A new book, stickers or even a small gift certificate for coffee makes a great gift.
Make it Simple!
Make it simple! Valentine’s Day is a cute holiday filled with love and cupid. It’s a day we should celebrate everyday. No need to make it a huge deal, but a small gesture to show how much you care about your family. Maybe even a nice dinner that you don’t normally make or just make breakfast, such as pancakes shaped as hearts! A small sweet always gets me for dessert.
