4 Ingredient Chimichurri Sauce//Easy and Tasty

Blog #126: To celebrate my 12 year anniversary, with my husband, I made some steak covered with chimichurri sauce and some scallops. I can’t believe its been that long already with 3 kids! We usually go out for dinner to celebrate at our favorite restaurant, which is also where he proposed! Times have changed as you all know with this pandemic and we now have a 13 month old who is attached to my hip. I decided to make a nice lunch for us to celebrate. The secret to my steak is this 4 ingredient Chimichurri sauce.

What is Chimichurri sauce?

Chimichurri sauce originates from Argentina. The sauce consists parsley, red wine and garlic. However, if you haven’t already noticed I love everything cilantro. My chimichurri sauce is different from the traditional sauce, The first time I tried it was at my favorite steak house and it was absolutely delicious. It looked different than what the traditional chimi sauce is made up of. This is were I ended up creating my own. That and I purchased a pre-made bottle at my local super market and it tasted completely different from what I’ve tasted.

How to Make?

My recipe consists of only 4 ingredients! If you don’t like cilantro, how could you not! 😆 You may use parsley as a substitute.

  • cilantro
  • olive oil
  • garlic
  • lime

I love cilantro so much that I enjoy the roughly chopped leaves. However, you may use a blender to break up the cilantro leaves a lot smaller. You may also add more oil or reduce it to create a thinner or thicker sauce. However, you prefer the texture.

How to Serve?

Sauces are perfect to serve over steak, chicken, lamb or fish! It also gives your dish extra flavor. Don’t settle for the same seasonings. It gets old and BORING. This is also perfect to gift a hostess. Double or triple the recipe. It’s an easy, inexpensive sauce to make and serve.

Easy and tasty 4 ingredient chimichurri sauce to serve over your favorite meats and fish!


  • 1 1/2 cups of cilantro, roughly chopped

  • 6 tbsp of Olive Oil

  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced

  • 1 lime, juiced

  • salt, optional


  • Mix the cilantro, olive oil, garlic and lime. Add salt of desired and serve over steak or your favorite meat or fish!


  • You can blend the sauce for a more saucy texture
  • You can also add more oil, if you prefer
