6 Morning Sickness Remedies

Morning Sickness is not fun. This is my fourth pregnancy and I’ve had morning sickness with all of my babies. Each one is just as bad but there are some things that help reduce nausea for a little bit, at least! Here are 6 morning sickness remedies that help me get through the day.

Lozenges

I have recently discovered morning sickness lozenges with this pregnancy. Pink Stork is a brand made by women, which I love! They sell flavors in mango ginger, peppermint and strawberry pomegranate. I have been using the mango ginger. Ginger is known to help with nausea. These lozenges also contain vitamin B6, which is highly recommended, to reduce nausea.

Toothpaste

Most people, I assume use peppermint toothpaste. Whichever toothpaste you use, brushing your teeth and tongue often definitely helps. For some reason the after taste of each meal is soo gross to me right now. Therefore, I brush after each meal and after snacks!

Small Meals

Eat frequent meals. This is not really a problem for me, since I eat every 2 hours, even pre-pregnancy. However, it is hard when I am super nauseous! But I will say, eating frequent meals definitely helps, so your not on an empty stomach. Small meals are also recommended. You don’t want to eat large meals and then feel very sick.

Avoid Certain Foods

As much as I love spicy food, I am really trying to stay away from it. It makes me very queasy. Bland foods aren’t as tasty but are the way to go. Crackers, cereal, eggs, cream of wheat sit pretty well. I have also noticed cold foods, such as smoothies and ice cream help. Warm foods have stronger scents, which does not help our heightened smells.

Water

Water is is your friend. Always and forever! We are made up of water, which makes it very important to stay hydrated. Staying hydrated also helps with morning sickness.

Cooking

Part of my blog is cooking, but boy has it been so hard to cook. While it was still nice out, my husband grilled outside but now that temperatures are low and cold, it is no longer comfortable grilling outside. Therefore, I cook many times with a mask on. I can’t stand the smell of any meat cooking. I prefer homemade food over takeout any day. However, takeout has been something I’ve been doing lately. Really to help with nausea but also because with this pregnancy I am craving all the junk and carbs. Not good! I know! But it helps me to feel satisfied.

Morning Sickness

Morning sickness is no joke. It’s one thing being sick for a day or 2 but being sick all day for 3-4 months or longer for some pregnancies is OMG! It will eventually pass but it feels like a lifetime. I don’t feel like doing anything most days but I have to. Being pregnant is like being a child at times LOL. The cravings and becoming picky about what I want to eat is ridiculous at times but its only temporary. We always get through it and it’s totally worth it in the end!
