Fruit Salads to Make This Summer
Summer days calls for fresh fruits to keep you cool. There are so many fruits that are in season during the summer. I definitely take advantage of that. For one, fruits in season are cheaper, but also being in season calls for extra sweet fruits that I avoid buying in the fall and winter. Here are 6 fruit salads to make this summer.
Strawberry Salad
Strawberries are one of those fruits that everyone loves to eat. Chocolate covered strawberries and jam are not the only things to make with them. I avoid purchasing this fruit in the winter. They are definitely not sweet in the off season. Which is why I take advantage of strawberries in the summer! Try making THIS easy strawberry salad. I enjoy this strawberry salad with scallops.
Watermelon Salads
There are many variations of watermelon salads to enjoy. Try Bacon Wrapped Shrimp with Watermelon Salad, Shrimp and Watermelon Kale Salad and Chili Lime Shrimp, Avocado and Watermelon Salad. I loved eating watermelon everyday when I was pregnant with my daughter. Yum! It is super healthy and made up of mainly water! Therefore, any watermelon salad will be super filling. Sweet and tangy mixtures taste really good!
Nectarine or Peach Salad
This 3 ingredient nectarine salad is easy to make and makes for a great appetizer, main or side dish. Nectarines and peaches are essentially the same. Peaches have the fuzz and nectarines have the shiny skin. Make this salad on a lazy day or when you have unexpected company!
Pineapple
Pineapple is great to add to any dish, from dips to salads and rice! I love making this pineapple salsa to go with tortilla chips and also to serve over fish and chicken!
