Thanksgiving Appetizer Ideas
Maybe you celebrate thanksgiving with a large crowd or maybe with just your family. Whichever way you celebrate thanksgiving, appetizers are a must! You need something to munch on throughout the day until the feast is ready. Here are some thanksgiving appetizer ideas!
I have yet to host Thanksgiving but that day will come. One day. My family and I usually head to my husband’s family for thanksgiving. Regardless, I still make my own Thanksgiving meal. Who doesn’t love to come home for more thanksgiving food?
Here are Some of My Favorite Appetizers to make:
Olive Oil Dip
This is one of my favorite appetizers! You can make it for any holiday or season and it is super easy to make. Serve with slices of Italian or French bread. See my recipe HERE.
Marinated Olives
You can buy marinated olives but they are also easy and fun to make. Try my Olives Marinated in Garlic
Vegetable Platter
Vegetable platters are pretty popular for the holidays. I feel people buy them to feel better about themselves because there is so much food around the holidays LOL. But at the same time vegetables are delicious and pretty easy to prepare. Try Roasted vegetables on your platter.
Charcuterie Board
Charcuterie boards have been so popular lately. You can make a cheese board, candy board, breakfast board; really just about anything! Pinterest has a lot of cool ideas. I make mine pretty simple or sometimes I make individual plates.
Cheese Log
Cheese logs are so yummy! My favorite holiday cheese log to make is from Food Network chef, Michael Symon. Funny I got his recipe from a magazine years ago, yet a google search nothing comes up. Luckily I still have the recipe!
It’s goat cheese rolled in sauteed bacon, 8 oz of goat cheese, honey, mission figs, black pepper and parsley or cilantro. Make sure the bacon and figs are cut up very finely. Mix all the ingredients together and form a log. Refrigerate to harden the cheese a bit. Serve with crackers. It’s absolutely amazing! Chef, Ree Drummond has a cool goat cheese recipe that also looks amazing.
Nuts
Nuts is also another holiday favorite. Always an excuse to eat more nuts than you normally do. Try 3 Ingredient Pumpkin Spice Pecans. Also great to gift to the host in a nice mason jar, with ribbon!
Fruit
Fruit is acceptable everywhere. Who doesn’t enjoy fruit? Make. a fruit platter or try making a turkey out of fruit. You’d be surprised how much you find online. People are super creative!
What are your favorite holiday appetizers?
