What To Pack For A Beach Vacation In Cape Cod?

What to pack for a beach vacation in Cape Cod? Well, that all depends on what your plans are. Are you planning to do beaches your whole stay, plan to site seeing or a little of both? If you plan to do beaches, your whole vacation, you’ve come to the right blog post!

Clothing

I made a mistake of packing more summer outfits than swimsuits for this summer at the Cape. It all worked out fine, except I packed a bunch of unnecessary outfits.

What You Really Need To Pack
  • 2-3 swimsuits to rotate
  • A pair of PJs
  • Waterproof sandals, such as birkenstock or crocs
  • underwear and bras
  • A sweatshirt (for colder nights at the beach or out to dinner)
  • A pair of long pants/sweats
  • Shorts
  • 2 comfy shirts

Beach Necessities

A beach is a beach and if you plan to stay there the whole day, make sure you have everything you need to be comfortable!

  • Beach towel (make sure to dry it overnight)
  • Cooler
  • Ice packs or bag of ice
  • Food/snacks
  • beach chairs
  • picnic blanket
  • beach tent
  • sunscreen
  • sunglasses
  • hats

Now if you are traveling by plane then I would eliminate the beach chairs, but stop by a shop for some cheap beach chairs. I own the sunbrella beach tent, which I love but it is long, once stored. There are many new tents out there that are more compact and better for traveling.

Food/Snacks

Plan on bringing lots of snacks. The beach makes you tired and hungry. If you plan on having lunch after the beach, then less packing for you. However, spending the whole day at the beach is relaxing, as long as you have all your necessities. Bring lunch plus extra. Fruit is a must and lots of cold waters.

Packing For A Family

It is easier to pack for yourself but there is so much more to pack for babies and toddlers. Here are my Beach Essentials for Baby and Kids. A bit more packing goes a long way for a stress free day!

Packing for a beach vacation can become overwhelming when your thinking of all the other necessities you need to pack. However, think beach necessities and less everyday wear!

Happy Summer!
