Are Warby Parker Glasses All the Hype? (Review)

Are Warby Parker glasses all the hype? Is it really worth it? What is the quality like? There are some pros and cons, of course. Here is my review.

I have been needing new glasses for sometime now. Finding the time to go to an optical, along with covid was just a bit much.

Last summer, I went to a LensCrafters, where I usually purchases most of my glasses. But with covid the procedure was a bit different. I received a tray where I could put all the glasses I tried on in. I think it’s a great idea, because I know I am trying on clean frames each time. However, I am pretty picky when it comes to glasses, since I wear them everyday! I guess I just felt bad trying on a gazillion frames for then to not like most of them! There was one frame I really liked but I didn’t want to spend so much on frames. I mean, it’s always at least $600 and I just didn’t want to invest in that, this time around.

Warby Parker Review

Warby Parker Frames

This is where Warby Parker frames come in. Why not just try on glasses from home? Now I did this probably 5 times, on and off for a few months. I was honestly frustrated because trying on the glasses virtually, they looked awesome. But then when the try ons arrived at home, the glasses were just a BIG NO. Finally I gave it more shot and found the perfect pair!

Here are the PROs

  • 5 Free try ons shipped right to your door! Virtual try ons as well, on the app
  • Once your face is scanned, the app makes recommendations on sizes and frames
  • Flat rate for each pair – My pair was $145 because I got the extra thin glass, due to a large prescription
  • Upload your prescription right on the app
  • You have 60 days to return the frames if there is an issue with them
  • You can also take them to a Warby Parker location
  • They also sell sunglasses

Not too Many CONs

  • My face is super small – not many options for narrow or extra narrow frames, which made it difficult for me to find a pair I liked. Hence, why I took so long to find a pair over a few months!
  • Not all frames can be tried on virtually or for home try on. Not sure why but that should be changed!
  • Shipping for the try ons takes at least 7 days. Not 3-5 days, as stated.
  • Make sure to ship the try ons within 5 days or your card will be charged. However, they are very understanding if you email them to let them know you are shipping a day later or 2.

Are Warby Parker Glasses Really Worth It?

Overall, I think the glasses are definitely worth it. The quality is better than I thought. I did sit on my glasses, accidently and they bent just a bit. However, I was able to bend them back into shape. They are really comfortable and the price is amazing. Think about saving at least $400 on glasses! My only real con was the selection for people with smaller heads like me!

Delivery

Before I forget, the frames come with a nice sturdy case and cleaning cloth. Shipping was quick and I honestly think I will be buying my next pair from Warby Parker!

Happy Shopping!
