Things To Do in November
There are still plenty of things to do this fall despite our crazy weather. Here in Massachusetts, one day it’s 70 degrees and the next day its frosty out. Here are some things to do in November with your family and friends! It’s also an excuse to start getting ready for the holidays!
Head to a Farm
November first comes along and we start thinking of all the holidays! Head to your local farm where you normally pick apples and other fruits during the year. Most are open year round. As the saying goes, kill two birds with one stone. Grab some fresh pies and other desserts for Thanksgiving and grab some fun jams for gifting this holiday season. Edible gifts are great since everyone can appreciate them!
Go Early
The earlier you go the better. You can put in an order to pick up a pie or two, closer to the holidays or just purchase a frozen one! I like to prepare for Thanksgiving and Christmas early to not have to deal with the stresses of crowds and cooking everything at once.
It’s also not too late to grab some more pumpkins to decorate your Thanksgiving table, if your having a get together.
Family Portraits
This is a perfect time of year to get a nice family portrait. You can also use the photo for your holiday picture! You can also go through you favorite pictures you’ve taken on your phone throughout the year. Since having my baby girl I have definitely have fallen behind on my scrapbooks!
Crafts
Make some crafts! Any type of art or craft is always relaxing, whether alone or with your kids. This is another way to get into the spirit of the holiday season. Some fun crafts for the fall, can be an Easy Scarecrow Puppet Craft or a paper pumpkin made out of construction paper strips. On each strip write what you are thankful for. See an example below. I really enjoy making this one with my kids. As they get older they have different things they are thankful for.
Craft Fair
Head to a craft fair. There are many craft fairs around this time of year. I am excited to go this year. A craft fair is great to support local crafters. If you like making homemade things you can register and sell your crafts. These are fun to attend to buy a few things for your holiday decor and/or Christmas gifts!
What are some things you like to do in the month of November?
Happy Fall!
