Low Calorie Energy Balls

Jump to Recipe

I love making my Protein Granola Balls Dipped in Chocolate but they are protein balls. Meaning they are higher in calories for the purpose of having more protein on the go! I decided to recreate them and make low calorie energy balls with less calories. These low calorie energy balls are 80 calories a ball and I was able to make 16 of them! Super satisfying and perfect to snack on when your doing nothing, in terms of moving around at home!

Only 4 Ingredients

What is easier than making any snack with just a few ingredients? It’s great because most likely you may already have these ingredients at home and two it makes for an easy snack. These low calorie energy balls are made using one bowl and no cooking required! Your kids can help you make these.

You Will Need:

How To Make

If you don’t have almond butter, feel free to substitute your favorite nut butter, such as peanut butter. I actually had to make a batch with peanut butter since I ran out of almond butter and they still came out great! The pitted dates give these energy balls the sweetness it needs and the almonds give it some nice crunch. The almond butter and oats bind the balls together.

Pulse the almonds and dates in a blender or food processor for about a minute or less, until the dates and almonds are very small. Add the almonds, dates, almond butter and quick oats in a bowl. Using clean hands, of course, form everything together into a ball. Make sure you get the oats and almond butter to incorporate with the rest of the ingredients. Then start forming small balls. You could make larger balls if you’d like. I was able to make 16 small ones.

Storing

It was nice to store the energy balls in the fridge for more firmness. You. can also just leave them at room temperature. They lasted a few days. They were an easy snack to make and super delicious!
